Document the Vehicle at Pickup
Take a slow walk around the car before you leave. Photograph each side, the wheels, windscreen, roofline, and interior, then make sure existing marks are recorded on the agreement. Five careful minutes can make the return much simpler.
Confirm the Essentials
Check the fuel level, odometer reading, registration, emergency equipment, and any extras you requested. If you are using the car in New York City, ask how tolls, parking citations, and congestion-related charges are processed.
Settle In Before Driving
Adjust the mirrors and seat, locate the lights and fuel release, pair your phone if needed, and save the roadside-assistance number. Do this in the lot so your first miles are calm, safe, and focused on the road.
